I'm down to my last one - the Ardbeg 10. Not including the "Infinity bottle" I'm working on which doesn't have much in it yet.

Currently got Aerstone Sea Cask, a
    Tamnavulin and an
Auchentoshan before hopefully something special appears off Santa

Just cracked open the GlenAllachie 15yr old. Very nice indeed. Obvious sherry notes from the olorosso casks. Reminds me a little of an old fave Aberlour a'bunadh.
  7. Not a natural whisky drinker, but back when we could travel and mix with people, we did a whisky taster session in Edinburgh - and I have to say I would definitely drink Auchentoshen again!

    Not a bad dram :)

Here's one of my Birthmas haul (Add an Arran 10 and a Laphroaig 10 Cask Strength)

  9. It shouldn't be permitted that you have that many. Now, as a friend on here and FB, I am willing to help you road test these, at no extra charge at iamwillingtohelpoyatwhiskytasting.com

As those who know me well know - I'm a big fan of peaty Islay single malts. However, lately I've had a few unpeated Islay single malts - and have enjoyed them. So - here's me thinking "Let's try it the other way around."
So - I present to you the BenRiach Curiositas, a 10 year old peated Speyside whisky! It works - it's very nice - I like it. It's definitely got a peaty smokey profile, but backed up with Speyside fruity sweetness. 46%, natural colour and non-chill filtered - good stuff. And for less than forty quid worth a punt for any whisky lover!

  12. I must admit that I am not a fan of the 'peaty' stuff, however, I might give it a go :)
