Just glass and plaques - the builders plus scaffolding were in. 1 & 2 windows are early 13th century, reds and blues amazingly bright. Quite a lot of brasses, which have been moved from the floor to the walls over the centuries. Shame got really poor images, due to reflections from builders spot lights. One was really cool, a Christopher Raittinge, a Hungarian 'doctor', was chief physician for 7 years to the Emperor of Russia, buried here in 1612. Perhaps here on holiday ! 1 2 3 4 5 6
First two don't quite come off as you hinted: bit bright and not quite doing the glass justice. The rest: as fascinating as ever, lots of history to explore which I like. Would still like to see the nave even with the scaffolding. Next time perhaps?
