1. Notice stating links with author Jane Austen 2. All interior was quite plain. 3. Apsidal chapel, the inside of the round bit by the tower with the 'halo' Apols for the fire extinguisher. 4. 5. 6. Interestingly decorated organ, prob Victorian.
As a Jane Austen fan, I know a bit about this place (and indeed her mile or so walking there with her sister down the muddy lanes from home). It's a treat to see it and get a feel for the place looking unchanged in over 200 years. Thanks for these.
This is almost the complete opposite of the church thread I've just come from (Drei Lowen, Madeira), simple and plain and let the windows do the talking, in terms of interiors this is more to my personal tastes
Nice shots - took me a while to suss out what the "Apols for the fire extinguisher" was. I was looking for a special recess or stand for it
