As I present this thread I wonder how many other Nutters have World Heritage Sites stored away as jpegs and tiff files? I've got Stonehenge, Ironbridge and the Giants Causeway (and I've been to Rome, you know), we've seen Durham Cathedral on here, the Forth Bridge...what else have you got? This one - Pontcysyllte Aqueduct - is a huge long iron bath (made using ox blood), 126 feet above the River Dee. Thomas Telford and his mate William Jessop got their lads to build it in 1805. 1: 2: 3 That's the B5434 down there, folks. It'll take you to the aptly named Canal Side: 4 Any bingo callers in town? 5 Monument to people with big hands: 6 High tech: 7:
No1 for me. I enjoyed the visit but found the photo ops limited. A view from further afield would be the shot I think.
I have photos tucked away of all of these sites. La Grand-Place, Brussels Historic Centre of Brugge Old City of Dubrovnik Paphos Ancient Thebes with its Necropolis Historic Cairo Memphis and its Necropolis – the Pyramid Fields from Giza to Dahshur Acropolis, Athens Meteora Mount Athos Pythagoreion and Heraion of Samos Old Town of Corfu Works of Antoni Gaudí Hierapolis-Pamukkale Ephesus Tower of London Old and New Towns of Edinburgh Maritime Greenwich Dorset and East Devon Coast Saltaire Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape Palace of Westminster and Westminster Abbey including Saint Margaret’s Church Frontiers of the Roman Empire Stonehenge, Avebury and Associated Sites
I have posted many of them on here, some may need scanning (I know you said jpeg/tiff but a print is just an old fashioned RAW file waiting to be converted).
No.8 lets the thread down if you ask me .... Been to ponty many times and it is hard to find some togging interest sometimes. You did a good job here No.3 is my fav.
DV didn't request posts, nor did he post photos of the places he mentioned. He asked a specific question. He He.
What's this? People actually offering feedback and critique on my pictures?!? Thanks for those who did.
A fascinating structure, we went about 4 yrs ago in summer we really enjoyed it, thanks for the reminder they're all good to look at on here.......
Seen shots of the aquaduct before and it fascinates me. And these are good shots of it, AND I laughed at the two fat ladies as well.
