Ta We're still testing it but it already looks a lot better. For one thing it's HTML5 based so no more problems with Java I've imported existing chat accounts into the new system. New users can register but won't be able to get in until I authorise them.
The chat link on the homepage now points t the new chat system. It's a LOT better! The only problem I've hhad is it timing out if left unattended in Firefox. I'm now running chat in Chrome with no problems. Maybe those that have used it already can give us their thoughts? @davep90 @DaveInFL @Dvorak @Fuzzy Penguin @modelflyer
The timeout is a pain on Firefox but there will be a simple fix somewhere no doubt which I intend to find when I get the chance. Other than that it's much better than the Java version IMO
Works for me. Would be good to see members dropping by for a natter so we can get to know each other better, finalise trips out and discuss stuff informally. Go for it!
I'm in there now To get smiles click the little cog top left pf the chatroom panel and select "Emoji"
Just reviving this thread. I'm not in chat all night every night but it would be good to see a few more members of our community drop by for a natter. It's a great way to sketch out ideas for a trip before agreeing details and putting up a thread, or to just chew the fat, or even to nominate a PotW shot if you see me there.
Guys - I'm busy at the moment, but give me a few days and I'll find you in the chat room to maybe discuss North Wales in October. I should have time to look at the locations very soon
