Blue bird at the Campbell(Donald??)hide, Forest of Dean

Discussion in 'Flora & fauna' started by Charltonfan, Nov 28, 2023.

  1. Always nice to photograph Kingfishers but to get good views can often be challenging. It was a bonus, therefore, to have this one put on a nice display and not too far away, from the Campbell hide at RSPB Nagshead. There were no speed records broken on this occasion with the bird occasionally diving for newts and dragonfly nymphs before posing patiently for photos! Click pic for full res version

  2. I don't have the foggiest idea how to captured birds - in fact I don't recall ever seeing a Kingfisher, so a lovely pose to enjoy.

I just wonder if it's worth editing out that yellow dangly flower thingymajig to the right of the bird - it seems to attract my eye away from the gorgeous Kingy!
  3. Fair point!
  4. A beautiful capture.
