No. It was done with a mono conversion on a new layer with a layer mask painted in. The red then peers through from the colour shot underneath.

I'm partial to colour copping so I do like number 1. As I write this I'm on a lunch break at work and a colleague saw number 1 and said "That's a lovely shot did you take it?".
So of course I told her I did.
