Bee collecting pollen

Discussion in 'Macro photography' started by Charltonfan, Feb 27, 2020.

  1. I first became interested in photography by taking macro shots. For this photo I used a Canon G1x mk2 compact camera with a Raynox close up lens attached. The shot is handheld and focus was achieved at around 5 inches from subject

    Stansgang Keep it straight!

That is a fine macro, such detail.
  3. Wonderful detail :)
  4. Beautiful detail. Looks like it was on an alkanet plant.
  5. Very nice work.
  6. Yes. Green Alkanet. Loads of this in our garden. Grows like a weed but the bees love it when it comes into flower

    Belter ;)
  8. Thanks for all the kind comments. The Raynox close up lenses are a cheap way of getting into macro photography without buying a dedicated macro lens and can be attached to some compact cameras as is my set up

    Yes indeed.

It's not just about getting a clear, crisp shot, it is about the setting, the colour and the poise of the subject. All present and correct here nicely.
  10. It just shows you don't have to spend an arm and a leg to take an excellent photograph, great skills and brilliant shot :)
  11. good one
  12. Vert sharp as it should be, well done.
