EDIT:Thought this was the best place for this: not really taken any reputable photos yet, so I'm looking for ideas :D

Pictures for the village plan have come to attention again

I need some shots that relate to a nearby village which is included in the plan, but is not that photogenic.

The sign as you enter the village however is. The words are made of the same material they use for cat's eyes in the road, and gives a brilliant effect of reflected light as you pass by at night. I want to capture it on camera, but haven't sussed the logistics of it yet.

The sign is:

So far I have only treid it in daylight with the flash (see above). I intend to try the same shot at night, but was wondering on any tips that I might not have though of.

It's only a 2 minute drive away, and I may well be walking past tomorrow, depending how the mood takes me (and the weather). Any ideas appreciated (bearing in mind the council meeting is on monday, and I want to take some samples along to show what I can do :D )

I'd try it at dusk - just so there's enough light to show some backround detail, then try using a long exposure and using a lamp or torch to light the sign. I'd play with various strengths of flash too.
