Looking for something simple

My mrs has expressed an opinion that she would like to partake in more hobbies together, so I will be looking for a simple camera, in case she aint interested after a month. Also needs to be cheap for the same reason. I'd like something thats not point & click, but really not complex either.

Any ideas?

I would give her my S5500, but thats 200quids worth of camera that theres a 50-50 chance she either gonna not use, or break.
