WW2 memorial

Discussion in 'Architecture' started by Polly, Sep 1, 2019.

  1. Yes, Littlestone again ! This memorial bench situated above the beach, was donated by the 1st New Romney Scout Group in recognition of the heroic contributions made during the war years by New Romney residents, both at home and overseas. The Scouts raised the funds themselves, which included a very ‘chocolatey’ Chocolate Evening back in May, which Branch members attended. A local knitter has added the poppies.

We have lots of this sort of thing in our parks - but none quite as ornate as this one!

Yes, I have seen a few on this theme. There seems to be an evolving national trend.

The dove, the barbed wire and the guns make for a strong message.
  5. Nicely captured and good on the scouts for raising the money.
  6. Well spotted :)
