Sorry I haven't been around for a bit. Hubby goes to meetings, picks up bugs and then brings them home for me. He also gets the flu jab free at work, while I have to pay (and I couldn't afford it last year). I must be on the mend because I vacuumed the house today. Last week I made good use of the one fine day and drove all the way up to Rutland. It was brutal. Three hours to get there, four hours of hard work and another three hours home. I was so busy that I had nothing to eat all day and only a tiny bottle of drink in ten hours. I didn't feel up to processing the images for a bit, but now they are done. With thanks to Anglian Water for their help in avoiding open days and wedding parties. I had the place to myself
That's a beautiful set, I really like the first one (water, building and lighting look amazing) and second to last with the wonderful sunset ... well worth the long drive and effort
Sorry to hear the woes: time to persuade the GP if you are clear you need that jab (I run the NHS campaign in my trust). It's certainly cheaper than the petrol to Rutland if you absolutely must have it and I wish more people would have it, especially when virus issues are big news. I do like the shots though: when we went it there it was rough and grey so you have certainly chosen the moment well.
One of our ferrets is in need of a dental at around £300 with our specialist vet, so no flu jab for me this year. If hubby brings another bug home, he's going in quarantine. I did a load of weather research before I went and yet it was still very choppy when I arrived. There was almost 100% cloud for most of the time, but the sun did break through as you can see in some of the images. The alternative was the following day with no cloud at all, so it was pretty much a no-brainer
I actually bought a veggie lunch on the way up. I guess I just get wrapped up in what I'm doing. It was only me, the D800 and the church until it got dark. Then I only wanted to get home
You produce some wonderful pictures when you punish yourself and these are wonderful........ But Zooey your body needs fuel to survive.
Best to look after yourself becasue if you stop posting shots like these and am going to come down and force feed you. I have seen shots of this place before but these are wonderful. There is so much that can be made of a view like this, sadly it's way too far for us oop North...........

PS Go and have your flu jab.......Mind you I'm apparently at risk and haven't had mine either. I just refuse as I am convinced that's what brought on the Guillian Barre syndrome my mother got.
Yes! A day out! No! You are more likely to get GBS after getting the flu than after vaccination Please! I need people around me to be protected.
